Specs and roles
Forever keeps the classic Priest trio. Two trees heal; Shadow is the DPS lane.
- Discipline: Healer. Shields, absorption fantasy, and efficient group support.
- Holy: Healer. Direct heals, renews, and the classic Holy toolkit for dungeon and raid triage.
- Shadow: Ranged DPS. DoTs, Mind Flay pressure, and cloth Shadow damage for groups that need another caster.
Priests stay on cloth. Mana, Fear Ward style utility (where available by race or talent era), and buffs make the class a group staple even when you are not the main healer.
Playable races
- Human (Alliance) start in Elwynn Forest
- Dwarf (Alliance) start in Dun Morogh
- Night Elf (Alliance) start in Teldrassil
- Gnome (Alliance) start in Dun Morogh (new Forever combo)
- Undead (Horde) start in Tirisfal Glades
- Troll (Horde) start in Durotar
Skyborne, Orc, and Tauren cannot be Priest in Forever.
Race picks that matter
Gnome Priest is the Forever headline: Escape Artist and intellect racials on a cloth healer or Shadow DPS that Classic never allowed for Gnomes. Human The Human Spirit and Will to Survive remain excellent for healers. Dwarf Stoneform and Fear Ward identity (where the Classic-era kit applies) keep Dwarves popular Holy and Disc picks. Night Elf Shadowmeld helps openers and drink breaks. Undead Will of the Forsaken is a PvP and open-world staple. Troll Berserking powers both heal and Shadow burst windows. There is no Skyborne Priest lane; if you want the island start on a healer, look at Shaman Windshaper or Druid instead. Full racial tooltips live on the Forever racial traits page and on each race guide.
