WoW Forever Gnome: Alliance Race Guide

Gnomes are an Alliance race in World of Warcraft: Forever. You start in Dun Morogh beside the Dwarves, while your capital story still points at Gnomeregan under High Tinker Mekkatorque. For the wider product pitch, see the Forever hub and the BlizzCon Forever coverage linked below.

Snapshot

  • Faction: Alliance
  • Starting zone: Dun Morogh (shared with Dwarf)
  • City: Gnomeregan
  • Leader: High Tinker Mekkatorque
  • Racials: Engineering Specialization, Escape Artist, Eureka!, Expansive Mind
  • Classes: Warrior, Mage, Rogue, Priest, Warlock
  • New in Forever: Priest

Lore

Gnomes built Gnomeregan into a marvel of gears, portals, and bad ideas that somehow worked. When the city fell, Mekkatorque led the survivors into Ironforge halls without surrendering the plan to take their home back. Forever keeps that refugee pressure alive while you still level through snowy Dun Morogh with Dwarven neighbors. On the kit side, Gnomes stay the Alliance answer for Escape Artist freedom, Engineering reliability, and mana-forward play. Eureka! gives casters a short damage window, Expansive Mind pads the pool, and Forever finally opens Priest so Holy and Shadow can ride the same compact body type.

Faction, capital, and leader

Gnomes fight for the Alliance. The capital named for Forever Classic-era framing is Gnomeregan under High Tinker Mekkatorque, even while early services and travel still route through Ironforge. Use that split when you talk faction identity versus practical leveling logistics.

Starting in Dun Morogh

You begin in Dun Morogh, shared with Dwarf. Clear the cold starter hubs on that zone page, then push toward Ironforge services while the Gnomeregan story stays your cultural north star.

Classes

New Forever combo highlight: Priest. Gnomes still have no Hunter, Paladin, Druid, or Shaman lane in Forever.

Who should roll Gnome

Roll Gnome if you want Escape Artist as a rooted-fight panic button, Eureka! as a caster burn tool, and Engineering that fails less often when gadgets matter. Mage and Warlock remain the classic stars. New Priest access makes Gnome a strong Alliance healer or Shadow alt without leaving the Dun Morogh pipeline. Rogue and Warrior still work when you want roots broken on demand more than raw stamina.
