Specs and roles
Forever keeps the classic Paladin trio. One tree heals, one tanks, one deals melee damage.
- Holy: Healer. Flash of Light and Holy Light triage, blessings, and classic raid and dungeon support.
- Protection: Tank. Shield and Consecration fantasy, threat tools, and plate front-line work.
- Retribution: Melee DPS. Seal and Judgement pressure with two-hander identity.
Paladins level into plate. Mana gates how often you heal, bubble, or dump Judgements. Blessings and auras make the class a group buff machine even when you are not the main tank or healer.
Playable races
- Human (Alliance) start in Elwynn Forest
- Dwarf (Alliance) start in Dun Morogh
- Undead (Horde) start in Tirisfal Glades (new Forever combo)
Night Elf, Gnome, Skyborne, Orc, Tauren, and Troll cannot be Paladin in Forever.
Race picks that matter
Undead Paladin is the Forever story beat: Light and Forsaken identity collide in Tirisfal Glades, with Will of the Forsaken and Underwater Breathing on a plate hybrid Classic never allowed. Alliance stays with the familiar Human and Dwarf pair. Humans bring sword specialization, The Human Spirit, and Will to Survive. Dwarves bring mace specialization and Stoneform for bleed and poison clears while tanking or healing. There is no Orc, Tauren, or Troll Paladin, and no Skyborne Light lane. Horde players who want plate tanking without Undead can still look at Warrior; Alliance players who want an island start should not expect Paladin on Skyborne. Full racial numbers live on the Forever racial traits page and on each race guide.
