World of Warcraft Patch 11.2: Ghosts of K'aresh launches in a few days and the new raid: Manaforge Omega follows just a week after that. The raid officially unlocks together with Mythic Plus Season 3, on August 12th for the United States and August 13th for Europe.

The Revival of Dimensius

Within Manaforge Omega, the story of K'aresh takes a turn for the worse. The Shadowguard is conducting a ritual to try and resurrect the Void Lord Dimensius. Dimensius, who is claiming the title of the physically largest raid boss in World of Warcraft, ever, also has the title "The All-Devouring" and was previously defeated in The Burning Crusade, during a quest in Netherstorm. Dimensius is responsible for destroying most of K'aresh and vaporizing most of the race that eventually became the Ethereals. Those who, sort of, survived, had their physical bodies torn away from them by the sheer amount of arcane energies that Dimenius released on their homeworld, but this energy also infused their souls with enough energy to survive, and thus the Ethereals were born.

Reshii Wraps

While questing through the new 11.2: Ghosts of K'aresh patch, you obtain an upgradable Artifact cloak that you will need during the raid. Not just because it is the most powerful item you can get during this patch, but because you need to have the cloak in order to dodge certain mechanics that will otherwise one-shot you.

But this is not the only reason why you want to have Reshii Wraps, of course. To make sure that you really have no choice, Blizzard has made sure that no other cloaks will drop in the raid (and possibly, Mythic Plus as well).

And if that was not enough, the Artifact level cloak of course comes with a nice proc chance for extra power, be it damage for DPS, healing for Healers or a defensive shield for Tanks. On top of that, several items within the raid have an effect that will strengthen Reshii Wraps even further. From a Ring that gives a defensive buff when it procs, to simply boots that will make it proc more often, which will grow in power with difficulty as well. 20% for LFR, 30% for Normal, 40% for Heroic and 50% for Mythic.

Bosses and Encounters

Manaforge Omega comes with eight new bosses, including one 'optional' encounter. Although you'll want to kill it for the loot. Starting off with the Guardian of the Manaforge: Plexus Sentinel, who patrols the colossal machinery of the raid.

After Plexus Sentinel, the raid has the choice to either of the next two bosses. One of them is Loom'ithar, a gigantic moth bred by the Shadowguard to weave silk from raw arcane energy. The other is Soulbinder Naazindhri, who within her dark chambers, creates unwilling servants from the souls of the K'areshi.

The fourth boss is Forgeweaver Araz. Within Manaforge Omega, he controls all the operations and makes sure there is enough energy flowing into the central chamber. After defeating him you also unlock the optional boss, The Soul Hunters. Although The Soul Hunters encounter is technically optional, it drops some of the best gear in the raid, which makes skipping it not really an option.

The last three bosses are linear again (unless you temporarily waited with the optional boss), starting with Fractillius. A Manaforge Omega born Elemental. Followed by Nexus-King Salhadaar, the former leader of K'aresh and once the sworn enemy of Dimensius the All-Devouring.

Last, of course, the Void Lord Dimensius himself. The All-Devourer is slowly waking because his devoted Ethereals are using the Dark Heart to bring him back. And as always with a last boss, this one has not been tested on the PTR, so not much is known about him yet. Dimensius’s return represents the culmination of Ethereal lore stretching back to Burning Crusade. He's a true saga villain finally stepping into the spotlight again.
