Call of Duty MW3 Season 2: Das Haus Returns to Save Multiplayer

The second season of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 dropped on February 7, 2024, and Sledgehammer actually understood the assignment. After a bit of a rocky launch that felt more like MW2.5, Season 2 brings the chaos players actually wanted.
Das Haus Is Back
Remember grinding camos on Das Haus in Vanguard? The shipment-sized meat grinder returns, remastered but keeping the same frantic energy. It's the perfect antidote to MW3's larger, slower launch maps. Expect 24/7 playlists and your K/D to take a beating. A new mid-sized map called Vista joins the pool. Vista is a Brazilian mountaintop resort with classic three-lane design. It looks a lot like Shoot House merged with Favela. Clean sightlines, quite predictable spawns, and an actual map flow. The basics for a good mid-sized map to become popular amoung players quickly. Then there is Stash House, an addition to the smaller map pool. Stash House promises a more close-quarters carnage, which is perfect for the camo grinders and XP farmers.
War Mode Gets Interesting
Operation Tin Man might be the sleeper hit. It is set in downtown Urzikstan and it remixes the Overwatch map from OG Modern Warfare 3 into a multi-phase War mode operation: In Phase 1 you either attack or defend a bomb sites on a construction site. Moving on to Phase 2 you escort a Wheelson through a lab while hacking servers. Last, in Phase 3 you need to hold an exfil point in an urban park. It is War mode with some actual variety instead of the very basic "push this cart here, plant the bomb there"kind of gameplay.
The Small Map Renaissance
Season 2 is signaling that Sledgehammer finally gets it. Players wanted more fast pacing, and more grindable maps. The potential for Das Haus and Vista in a 24/7 playlist certainly has the community more hyped than any cosmetic bundle ever could. After several months of tactical gameplay on way oversized maps, we are finally going back to what Call of Duty does best. Constant but controlled chaos, exactly how players like it. If it is enough to save the Modern Warfare 3 reputation at this point is unknown. But at least we got some more guns and maps to enjoy. It is certainly a step in the right direction and for those who did not no-life the launch for levelling and camo farming in Zombies, you now have a more fun way to reach your goals!
